Hello Friends,
Silas and I made a video to share what we are up too (see bottom of the page). Since recording this video New Zealand has gone into a national lockdown due to a recent outbreak of the delta variant of COVID 19. We are safely tucked away on base with our students. We are so grateful for God’s protection and provision. We are praying this lockdown will be short and effective. Please watch our video to hear more about what God has been doing here at Marine Reach.
Prayer request:
Silas and I both need to go to the dentist for cleanings and Silas needs a filling. We hope to make appointments next month. We would be very blessed if you would pray about a donation toward this health expense. I was recently volunteering with a local dental clinic and I strongly advised each patient to stay on top of their preventive care (i.e. cleanings) as the cost of seeing the dentist will only rise with time. What starts as a small cavity can easily become a root canal. So in an effort to take my own advice I’ve realized we shouldn’t push off our Healthcare needs any longer. Donate here
Emmalea is one of our students in the July DBS and here is a brief testimony of her journey so far:
“Growing up I went to church every Sunday and my favourite sermons would always have a tidbit of historical background that I had never heard before. Unfortunately for me these sermons were few and far between. I wanted to understand why what I was reading was important and for me that meant context. I wanted to know why it was so significant to the people of that day that these words were written/said.
Boy, has DBS delivered! In lectures we cover all the context/historical background stuff! It’s beautiful to understand the why behind a lot of it and we’ve just scratched the surface. I honestly wish our lectures could be longer, but that’s the beauty of DBS. It’s given me tools for how to read the Bible and also how to study it.
We’re only 3 weeks in and DBS has really changed the way I read the Bible and how I relate to it.” (Emmalea is in the middle of the picture above during reading group)
God Bless!
