Hello Friends & Family,
What a blessing it is to be cared for by each one of you! Silas and I have found ourselves in the midst of an exciting and challenging time in ministry. At Marine Reach we are known for our international ministry. Particularly to the pacific islands. As we cannot travel at this time, God has been taking us on a journey to disciple those around us. Silas and I focus on leading Bible centered programs and courses in the ministry. Our passion is to bring the Word of God to life and teach our students how to study it for themselves. We desire to see both the young and old transformed by the power and beauty of the Bible.
We feel God has been saying that we need to make our courses more accessible for the everyday person and since we normally run schools that are a full time commitment, we have been adapting to what the local community needs. We have been so blessed by God’s wisdom in leading us to put on a once weekly Bible course at a local Baptist church.
We just finished running our first Discipleship Bible Training Course. The goal of the course is for students to cover the entire story of the Bible in 9 weeks through lectures, reading, and small group Bible studies. We had 25 students signed up ranging in age from 15-75. People are hungry for Gods Word. They are hungry for truth and knowledge and it has been our privilege to unlock many difficulties people have in approaching the Bible.
We had a woman in her 40’s who had never read through the whole old testament because she felt it was weird and didn’t understand its relevance to her faith today. During our course she started reading through the Old testament and now has a renewed understanding of its value. Another one of our students was freshly captivated by the love of God as we studied the impact of Gods covenants throughout the old and New Testament. We are thrilled to see that God is transforming lives through this program.
Silas and I are doing well adjusting to married life and getting into a new routine. Of course there is definitely a new learning curve in developing our communication as a married couple, but here is no one else I would rather grow with than Silas. He is the most patient and kind husband. I am so grateful each day for the blessing that he is. One of the things that is a continual discussion for us is where to live. We currently live in temporary housing and are seeking wisdom from the Lord as well as continued finances to be able to find a place that is suitable for us.
Prayer Points:
– Vision for the next quarter of training schools
– Open doors and clear direction from God with housing
– Guidance/balance in how to live a restful life in ministry, marriage,
and maintaining family/friend relationships
We would love to hear from you!
In Christ,
Silas & Amy
