Hi everyone,
‘Established’ is our school motto for this February Discipleship Bible School. As Paul says in Ephesians 3:17 to be rooted and grounded in love; that is our hearts cry for our students.
We have just completed the second week of our Bible School and have already experienced a lot. Our goal is for students to recognize the entire story of the Bible, that from the beginning of creation human beings were made in the image of God and to be in relationship with God. And even after the fall, God kept re-establishing the relationship and ultimately paid for it himself on the cross.
Some of our students have never read the Old Testament before, others come from broken families, and more than half of them have had great difficulties in school. So, we need God’s wisdom to take care of our students and walk alongside each one them where they are at in their journey. Of the nine students, six are from New Zealand, two from Australia and one from America. And all are between the ages of 18-21.
I had the opportunity to teach the first 3 days of the school. The teaching prep and preparing the school in general was a lot of work. Nevertheless, I was able to learn a few new things from the book of Genesis, for example that the creation accounts call us to rest and enjoy God’s creation, not just on the seventh day, but every day (in Genesis 1 the seventh day has no end…)
Amy is busy preparing her teaching for next week, she will be teaching all week and has the privilege (but also challenge) of teaching Joshua, Judges, Ruth and Psalms. Please pray for her 🙂
Thank you so much to everyone who supports us so generously, we still need about $2,000 to reach our goal of getting the new visa and flights to Germany and the USA.
Prayer requests: pray for…
– Amy, that the teaching preparations are going well
– our new visa, that it would go smooth and quick
– Wisdom to care for our students
Blessings from the other side of the world
Silas & Amy
